Privacy Policy for TicketGuard (Android)

Last Updated: July 11, 2025

Thank you for choosing TicketGuard. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our Android application (the “App”). Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.

1. Information We Collect

  • Location Data: The App requires access to your device’s GPS location to provide its core service: alerting you to nearby traffic cameras and police traps. Location is processed in the foreground. If you are a premium user who activates Background Detection Mode, the App will track your location while running in the background to provide continuous voice alerts.
  • Personal Information: We do not require personal information for you to use the core features of the App. However, if you choose to participate in our community features (e.g., reporting or verifying police traps), we may ask you to create an account, which may involve providing an email address.
  • User-Generated Content: We collect information you provide through community reporting, such as the location of police traps.
  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous data about your interaction with the App to help us improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide and Maintain the Service: To provide you with real-time alerts for speed cameras, red-light cameras, and police traps.
  • To Improve the App: To understand how our users interact with the App and to improve its features and usability.
  • To Manage Community Features: To operate the credit-based system for reporting and verifying police traps.
  • To Communicate with You: To respond to your inquiries and support requests.

3. Advertising and In-App Purchases

  • Google AdMob: The free version of our App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID and other data to serve personalized ads. You can learn more about Google’s practices here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Local Ads: The App may also display local advertisements that are not affiliated with Google AdMob.
  • In-App Purchases: The App offers subscriptions and one-time passes to remove all ads and unlock premium features. These purchases are processed securely through the Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may share data with the following third parties:

  • Supabase: For backend services related to community reporting and user authentication.
  • Google: For advertising services (AdMob) as described above.

5. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your data. The fixed camera database is stored locally on your device and is encrypted. Data transmitted to our backend for community features is sent over secure connections.

6. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You are not required to create an account to use the App’s primary features. If you have created a community account, you may request its deletion at any time by contacting us. To do so, please email your request to ticketguardapp@gmail.com.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the App or via other communication channels.
