The San Francisco speed camera pilot program (authorized by AB 645) is now in full effect. While 2025 was a year of “warning periods” and installation, 2026 is the year of active enforcement. If you are looking for the San Francisco speed camera locations, the list below is the most up-to-date resource available. These 33 cameras are operational 24/7 and are targeting high-injury corridors across the city.

The 2026 “Top 5” Hotspots

Based on recent 2025 citation data from the SFMTA, these five locations have been the most “productive” for the city. Be extremely cautious in these zones:

  1. King St (EB) from 4th to 5th St: High traffic near the stadium often leads to heavy acceleration.
  2. Fulton St from 2nd Ave to Arguello Blvd: A major thoroughfare where the 25 MPH limit is frequently exceeded.
  3. Mission St from 8th to 9th St: Busy SoMa corridor with heavy pedestrian traffic.
  4. Bayshore Blvd (NB) near the 101 Off-ramp: Drivers coming off the highway often fail to slow down to city limits.
  5. Sloat Blvd (EB/WB) near 41st Ave: High-speed zone near the zoo and residential areas.

San Francisco Speed Camera Fines in 2026

Under AB 645, the fines are fixed and automated. There is no “bargaining” with the camera. If you are caught traveling 11 MPH or more over the limit, a ticket is automatically mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.

  • 11-15 MPH over limit: $50
  • 16-25 MPH over limit: $100
  • 26-99 MPH over limit: $200–$500
  • 100+ MPH: $500 (and a potential mandatory hearing)

Remember: These are civil penalties. They do not add points to your California driver’s license, and they are not reported to your insurance company. However, they are expensive.

Don’t Just Look at a Map—Get Real-Time Alerts

A static map is great for planning, but it won’t help you when you’re distracted by traffic or navigation. In 2026, the SFMTA is using these cameras to change driver behavior through “financial reminders.”

Ticketguard provides the only solution for the modern SF driver. Our app runs in the background and gives you a clear, audible alert before you enter a speed camera zone.

Whether you’re driving through SoMa or heading down Fulton, Ticketguard keeps you aware of your speed and keeps the $100 tickets out of your mailbox.
